…And I’m raw, vulnerable and apparently have a potty mouth sometimes (so, put on some headphones if you’ve got little one’s around).
I speak from my heart with full transparency here and I’m going to keep showing up in this way on this podcast.
This come-back-podcast was totally spontaneous and inspired. One of my core values is freedom and I want to be free in my expression and free from my own self-judgement.
So, what better way to shine the light on this than to record this podcast without any preparation or script or idea what I was going to say. And to commit to myself that I won’t edit any of it and that I will share it with you.
Being the light is only possible when we embrace our humanity, innocence, shadow, insecurities, and the whole gamut of who we are being. We must know darkness to experience the light.
This episode might just give you a peek into the inner workings of my mind and how I see this incredible journey of my soul in human form.
You’ll also hear:
- what happened with the guy who ghosted me online dating
- why I don’t believe in coincidences
- what the true meaning of Yoga is in my world
- tears well up as I share he story of my childhood dreams being shattered and what I made that mean about me
- why it’s so hard to see your own Divinity and live from that place
- how to inspire others by being more of who you came here to be
I’d love to hear your thoughts about the podcast. (As long as they’re positive thoughts… ’cause I don’t want to waste any of my life force dealing with negativity via the internet. Life is way too precious and short).
If you’d like to join me this spring, there are a few spaces left for my Ayurveda Yoga Retreat as well as the upcoming 100 hour Online Ayurveda Yoga Training.
I look forward to seeing you on the path.
Be the light,
Melanie

Hi Melanie thanks for sharing. I loved hearing your voice again. Like your friend I also was inspired by the pictures you posted of your climbing vacations. I thought to myself she is fulfilling her sankalpa of having more fun in her life! I would like to connect with you at the yoga conference and talk to you about the teacher training. Namaste Christina ????
Thank you Melanie for your transparency and willingness to share the tough stuff and the joy. For all those who, like you, have ever wondered if they are on the right path, making a difference in the world, I highly recommend “The Great Work of Your Life: A Guide for the Journey to Your True Calling” by Stephen Cope. Using the Bhagavad Gita, personal memoir, and the lives of luminaries like Jane Goodall, John Keats, Walt Whitman and Harriet Tubman, he beautifully illustrates how we might see our lives though a lens that either affirms our dharma for us or points us in the direction of how to unveil it.
You’re welcome, Cindy. Many blessings. Melanie
Hi Melanie, thank you for this recent podcast. I really enjoyed listening to your wisdom and hearing your laugh. I was a Langara YTT student of yours, oh my goodness 9 yrs ago, how time flies. Like you I am somewhat overwhelmed with the positive feedback received from participants of my yoga classes or hearing how I have influenced or touched someone in something I have done or said. I sometimes feel I am getting too old, wishing II was a little slimmer, etc to be up in front of a group teaching. But the truth is I care and I really want to help those in my classes and that is what comes through. Being authentic as you were saying is key. Over the years I have had a knee replacement and last year broke my hand dog walking and through these recoveries the ladies in my classes have seen my struggles but have also seen how yoga has helped me through. Not being perfect, having ups and downs, I think makes you more real to others. I will look forward to your next podcast. You always touch on something that resonates with me. Today was reminding me things happen when they are meant to, try to let go of controlling or micromanaging life. Wishing you all the very best.
Colleen, how lovely to hear from you. I absolutely remember you from the Yoga Teacher Training at the college. It’s apparent how much you care about yourself and your students as you continue to live by example. Many blessings to you. Melanie
I loved cooking to your podcast on “I’m Back….Have a Listen”. Thank you for your honesty and especially reminding me I am unique, special and important…as is everyone else.
How wonderful! Yes, we are all unique, special, and important. So good to remember. Blessings. Melanie
