Smoothies seem to be all the rage these days, have you noticed?
In Ayurveda we don’t recommend smoothies all year long as they are cool, damp, heavy, and often hard to digest for some.
BUT…as the weather has warmed up I’ve been craving yummy morning smoothies or as a snack throughout the day.
Here’s the recipe for my new favourite smoothie invention!
1/2 cup blueberries
1 banana
1 tsp maple syrup
20 peeled almonds (soaked in water overnight and peeled in the morning)
Small handful of cilantro
1 cup of water
Add all of the ingredients to your blender (I use a Nutri Bullet and it works great), blend and enjoy!
Makes one big serving for a hungry lad or lassie!
Now, I like to create intuitively so please feel free to play with these quantities… 🙂
What can you recommend as a substitute for nuts if there is a peanut/tree nut allergy
If that’s the case, you could try chia seeds or even sunflower seed butter. Have a fantastic summer! m
